Médicament Québec – September 2026

Médicament Québec is launching a call for applications for its Academic Platform Sustainability and Valorization Program, an initiative designed to provide Quebec scientific platforms with the tools they need to structure their development, increase their use, and foster their long-term sustainability.

The program is intended for platforms that support research and innovation in the drug and vaccine sector and are seeking to increase their impact across academia and industry.

Six platforms will be selected to take part in a 16-month support program combining training, workshops, mentorship, and group sessions. Participants will progressively develop a business plan tailored to the realities and ambitions of their platform.

This call aims to:

– Support the development and long-term sustainability of academic platforms;

– Define a value proposition and positioning that address the needs of clients and users;

– Develop a business model that diversifies funding sources and reduces reliance on competitive funding programs;

– Support platforms in developing a robust business plan tailored to their realities;

– Maximize the use, accessibility, and impact of existing academic infrastructure across Quebec’s drug and vaccine ecosystem;

– Foster collaboration among platforms, institutions, companies, and other strategic partners;

– Strengthen the contribution of platforms to drug and vaccine research, development, and supply chains in Quebec.

Who is the program for?

For the purposes of this program, a platform is defined as:

Academic infrastructure that brings together specialized equipment, expertise, and services accessible to users or clients.

The program is intended for:

– Existing academic platforms offering services relevant to drug and vaccine discovery and development and seeking to develop or expand their offering to external clients, particularly industry;

– Researchers already providing specialized services related to drug and vaccine development who are seeking to structure or expand their activities to evolve toward a platform model.

Application Process

Application deadline: October 30, 2026
