Médicament Québec invites Quebec life science companies to propose collaborative research activities with the academic sector to accelerate the development of drugs and vaccines.

Montréal, QC (February 25, 2026) — Médicament Québec today announced the launch of a new funding program designed to support research activities that directly address the challenges faced by Quebec life sciences companies by leveraging existing academic expertise, infrastructure, and equipment across Quebec.

“The program Industrial access to academic platforms fully aligns with Médicament Québec’s mission to help structure the drug and vaccine ecosystem in Quebec. By facilitating companies’ access to existing academic equipment and expertise, we aim to accelerate the development of therapeutic solutions while playing an active matchmaking role between industry and researchers,” said Arianne Trudeau, Executive Director of Médicament Québec.

The program is based on a structured two-step process. In the first stage, companies and academic researchers are invited to submit an expression of interest describing a research activity that addresses a concrete drug or vaccine development challenge in collaboration with Quebec-based academic researchers. Médicament Québec will then review the submissions and, where appropriate, provide targeted support to help identify relevant academic researchers and resources and facilitate connections. Teams with complete files will subsequently be invited to submit a joint application, which will be evaluated by independent external experts. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until available funds are fully allocated.

This call aims to mobilize Quebec’s academic expertise and resources to help companies reach key development milestones and accelerate the advancement of their drug and vaccine programs. Through this mobilization, the program encourages the deployment of activities with strong translational impact and high potential for long-term sustainability within the ecosystem.

To learn more about the program, eligibility criteria, and submission process, companies and researchers are invited to visit the Médicament Québec website. An information webinar will also be held on March 10 to present the program and answer questions from interested companies. Click here to learn more.
